Emirates considering adding narrowbody capacity

I think this is a good decision, They are considering to buy A320 (Probably neo ones) or B737 (Probably MAX ones) to operate some regional routes across the Gulf. Share your opinions and thoughts about this news!

This would be brilliant as Qatar have got a competitive advantage over Emirates because they can go to smaller airports so these smaller aircraft are needed if they want to compete.

Great idea, I see many people traveling these routes with Emirates.

I mean, they still have FlyDubai, that operate a bunch of 738s

Yes please! Hopefully could mean some smaller destinations as well as expansion of their Milan thing (hub/focus city)

Add long range 739MAX for polar route.

Hope they don’t rename this battle,“Airline Wars I”! ;-)

Interesting. If they want the largest narrowbody, the A321 NEO is the only game in town when you consider hot weather performance considerations in Dubai.

If they are willing to move towards the 130 seat range, the Bombardier C series CS300 would fit in well, and Bombardier would give them a competitive price.
They could offer the much speculated CS500 which is right on the lower edge of the 737-8 / A320 seating range.

It would make a great movie.
Anyway, back on topic

I think the IFC should be Emirates’ fleet advisors.

My bad. They were founded by the same guy though. That’s what got me confused.

EK should quit messing around and hook themselves up with some A320/A321NEOs. A perfect fit I’d say

That’s nice! I mean, imagine an Emirates A320 or an Emirates 737! Or even an Emirates ERJ!
