Emirates A380

How many ‘old’ liveries do you see in the game on aircraft that are popular nowadays? Just because the aircraft has got a few years left doesn’t mean it’s our highest priority to add more liveries to the in-game plane. In fact, it would be more logical if we left it as it is now because special liveries and standard liveries on the A380 are just going to keep disappearing from existence.

That’s exactly what I want to know: how do they decide this, and if they can have four special liveries for one airline, why not for another? Also, only one Emirates A380 livery is actually special the 50th anniversary one. The other two are just standard liveries.

Well the standard liveries do count as liveries. As for deciding, I wouldn’t have any idea. I assume that they try to avoid special liveries as much as possible, but sometimes it’s absolutely necessary, like when the IFC and discord explodes over adding one livery or if a popular airline unveils a unique livery.

Alaska airline boeing 737’s have 3 special liveries in the sim.

American airlines has 2 special liveries for the 777-200

I can count dozens if you like.

It doesn’t matter about the amount, it’s about the decision whether to add these liveries or not. People who aren’t staff have zero control over what gets added to which airline.

It’s their game. The staff team are ultimately the ones responsible for choosing which liveries do and do not make it in, along with special liveries - which are ultimately up to their discretion.

I’ll point you to this answer from Tyler. Have a good day

Who decides what gets added and when? If it’s the developers who decide, then that’s exactly my original point: I’m trying to convince them to add a particular livery. If they can add the Lufthansa special livery or Etihad’s Choose UK livery for the A380, then why not Courier Express?

Or do they choose which liveries to add based on their personal preferences?

But the problem is, you can’t request special liveries.

Top votes? How are you going to get votes for a particular livery when special liveries aren’t even allowed in the features?

It’s a special livery, and the IFC’s policy is that special livery requests are not permitted.

Picture this - if special livery requests were permitted, could you imagine how many more topics would clutter up the forum? Furthermore, you only have a limited amount of votes, and more special-livery requests would further scatter vote concentration, limiting the staff team from seeing a clear picture of what the forum users actually want.

To also add on to that, some special liveries are just not possible for the artists to make - case in point being the Qantas Yam Dreaming 787-9 - where the hypothetical line would be drawn there is very murky.

It’s forum policy. Feedback like yours helps, but ultimately these are the rules and we all have to respect them.

Your comment contradicts to the thread you shared earlier.

Regarding the limited number of votes. That does. not make sense. It’s what the forum is made for that is an inappropriate answer that the votes will be scattered. Low number of votes does not mean that they do not make it to the sim or that there less desirable. Sunclass A330-900 was added in the previous update with less than 100 votes while other liveries with higher number of votes like the Malaysian a330 are not added.

I can assure you if we have courier express livery. Everyone would fly it.

I probably wouldn’t.

Please DM me if you want to discuss this further/if you’d like me to explain this more.
