Emergency on the Q400

iPad 9th Generation 64Gb:
iOS 15.6

State your issue: The Q400 banks unexpectedly to the left.
Flight parameters:

  • Mass: Symetric and 84% (Below MTOW and MLW)
  • Engines: Both Running
  • Airport: HKJK (5330ft elev.)
  • Take-Off Flaps: 10°
  • Take-Off IAS: 127 kias
  • Wind: 8 kts 90° sideways
  • Autopilot Setting: OFF
  • Calibration: OH YES it was fully calibrated multiple times

At first I thought the wind was violently pushing me left but I checked and from experience I know that a 8 kts crosswind does not push me like it did. Also, wherever I was I banked left regardless of the wind.

I will send a replay for detectives to realise how big of an issue it was. Share My Infinite Flight

If you have any other questions feel free to ask!

Was Autopliot enabled when this happened?

No except on the downwind leg.

And what leg were you on?

What do you mean?

You said autopilot was enabled on Downwind, what leg of the pattern did this happen on? Was it during the whole thing?

Downwind (it was written lol)
And I only feel it when AP is off

Downwind is what I call a leg

Was your device calibrated?

Yes I kept calibrating

And your speed was suitable?

Yes the only moment I Stalled is when I turned off Engine 2 to counter the Left movement but that is irrelevant don’t worry

I guess we’ll have to see the replay then, because I have no clue. Was the left wing dipping so much that you were gonna stall?

Yes I sent it originally lol

I would if no counter action was given

I’ve got news! I redid the flight with the same parameters and no issues were reported….

I guess it’s only a one time issue.

I anyone has a clue about what caused this strange banking feel free.
