Emergency Landing at SFO

On the 12th of November 2025, Korean Air flight 180 (KE180), operated by a Boeing 747-8i
with 314 passengers on board departed Seoul Gimpo with no issues, little did they know what amount of pressure and workload they’ll have whenn they approach San Fransisco.

10 Hours laterr…

The crew notices that something is off with the Fuel System, they inform ATC about it and get priority for Approach into Runway 10L.

1 Hour Later…

The Captain of KE180 declares Mayday with barely enough fuel to get to the Runway, ATC clears them for a direct Approach into RWY 10L.


KE180 has just 100kg of fuel relmaining while on final.


The plane makes a steep final into RWY 10L.



Soft touchdown at RWY 10L with no Fuel remaining, therefore no reverse thrust.

Very nice pictures and story.

I remember I was once flying from Madrid - Dublin in the simulator when I realised I didn’t even pack my fuel in. I had to make an emergency landing in some small Spanish airport in the North West of Spain with only 3 mins of fuel remaining.
