Aircraft Description
The Embraer E190-E2 is the second generation of Embraer’s E-Jet family, developed as a re-engined and extensively redesigned evolution of the original E190. Development
Embraer launched the E-Jet E2 programme in 2013 as a response to growing airline demand for more fuel-efficient regional jets. The E190-E2 was the first of the three E2 variants to fly, completing its maiden flight on May 23, 2016. It entered commercial service with Widerøe in April 2018, becoming the first E2 variant in operation. The E2 programme introduced a completely reworked wing, a new fly-by-wire system, and an updated avionics suite — all contributing to a 17% reduction in fuel burn per seat compared to the original E190. Since entry into service, the E190-E2 has proven itself as a reliable and commercially attractive platform for operators worldwide.
