Last week, I decided to skip my classes at collage and take my Bison on a trip to Dubai ๐ฆ๐ช! Our routing to get there was Denver-Newark-Dubai on United! We were economy peasants but it was no biggy because I love UALโs international products! We stayed at a Marriott ๐จ right near the airport to get amazing spotting views all week long and my oh my it was soooo worth the $4,000 ๐๐ธโ๏ธ!
We did all the usual touristy things like shop at the Dubai Mall, go Skiing indoors at Ski-Dubai, skydive off the Burj Khalifa, visit Palm Jamerah, and visit more markets and bizzares than I could ever count ๐
! Donโt ask me howโฆ but somehow the Bison were able to participate with everything! If you ever get a chance, please go skiing with a Bison as it is one of most hilarious sights ever ๐โท๏ธ๐ฆฌ! (Dont tell them I said this, but they suck compared to me) ๐

Flight Number: EK215
Departure City: Dubai, UAE
Arrival Airport: Los Angeles, California, USA
Airline: Emirates
Aircraft: Airbus A380-800
Seat: 7A (Upper deck, right behind the L6 door)
Flight Time: 15hrs, 55mins
We got to the airport around 3:45am local time for a 7:15am departure. Why so early United403? Well, A) because my bison begged me to, and B) because we wanted to visit the renound buisness class lounge! IDK what they did during the 2:30hrs that we were at the lounge, but I enjoyed myself some caviar, an absolutley devine smoked salmon omlette ๐ณ, and spent about $100 on arcade games ๐น๏ธ ๐.
Anywho, once I finally found the bison, we headed to gate B21L where we were greeted by A6-EVQ, a 2020 built A380-800 bearing the very special โDubai 50thโ livery! Apologies for the almost pitch black picture. I was rushing to get a picture before boarding and didnt really stop to thing about the lighting.
The Emirates gate personel were very kind and let me and the bison board first! We took up the entire center cabin of buisness class on the upper deck! When I booked these tickets, I didnt realize how many of us thereโd actually be ๐ .
We pushed back right at 7:15, not a second before or after ๐! The flight was abour 3/4 full, meaning we were gonna have a flaps 3 takeoff ๐ณ! It will always amazing me that such a massive plane can ever get airborne ๐คฏ! Once the engines were started, it was quick 8 minute taxi to runway 30L. ๐ซ
As we were holding short of 30L, awaiting takeoff clearance, I got this perfectly timed photo of A6-EOG passing the runway threshold about to butter ๐ง๐ฌ! It had just finished a flight from Washington Dulles Intโl (KIAD)! If you ever get a chance, do go to Washington D.C! Been there in the human verse (IRL) and its a fantastic city ๐!
We used about 11,500 / 14,600 ft available to get airborne and omg our climb was scarely shallow. I canโt imagine we were climbing more than 1,000 ft per minute. Even while being scared for my life that we woulnโt climb, I did get this picture of a JAL A350-900 preparing for a flight to Tokyo Haneda (RJTT)! What a beautiful bird!
I snatched this picture right after I finished breakfast, which was delicious as expected! We were just about to leave Iranโs airspace ๐ฎ๐ท and begin traversing Turkmenistanโs ๐น๐ฒ airspace and the eastern coast of the Caspian Sea, before flying over Kazakhstan ๐ฐ๐ฟ and Russia ๐ท๐บ!
So for the breaky timeโฆ I had an arabic mezze sampler, caviar platter, a kale and spinach frittata with pototoes and portabello mushrooms, a cappucino and OJ ofc ๐! I was stuffed and so ready for a movie! As its nearing the holiday season, I had to Christmas Vacation ๐! Not many things in this world are as funny as Clark Griswold imo! After I finished that movie, I passed out for a solid 9 hours.
Fast forward that 9hrs, I woke up absurdly well rested over Portland, Oregon! If you look closely at my photo, you can spot Mt. Hood and Mt. Adams making an appearance just closer than the horizon ๐๐! Mt. St. Helens was just behind and below the number 1 engine!
Personally, I dont usually dream when I sleep on a plane, but I did on this flight about some flight simulator called โInfinite Flightโ??? IDK what that is and have no idea why it was the center of my dream. ๐ค
Anyway, at this point in the flight, I was starving and in desperate need for a shower. Food first, ALWAYS โ๏ธ. I decided on more caviar, the Bzar chicken for my main, and a wonderfully curated cheese board for dessert ๐ง๐.
It was a pretty uneventful 90 minutes after lunch. I decided to study a little for school and watch an epsiode of Outer Banks season 4! I highly recommend that show! I also had a Pina Colada from the lounge and it reminded me of all my amazing vactions to the tropics ๐๐. Just like that ๐ซฐ we were on decent and turning left-downwind for 25L at LAX! I need to be given an award for my photography because this photo of downtown Los Angeles and the San Gabriel mountains ๐๏ธ๐๏ธ๐๐ธ
Some mysterious plane spotter by the name of Butter575 got this gorgeous picture of my plane on about a 1 mile final for 25L! Gorgeous, absolutly gorgeous ๐
The landing was butteryyyy smooth ๐ฃ๏ธ๐ง! Hereโs one last view of our big beautiful bird! After 15:55 we made it safely to SoCal! Iโm here for about 5 hours before we catch a flight back to Denver. Note to self, donโt ever take your bison on an international trip - customs was god aweful chaos ๐ตโ๐ซ.
Every great layover in Los Angeles has to be accompanied by In n Out ๐๐๐ฅค
I deciced to splurge for the Bison and get 5 of everyone on the menu ๐
