EIDW sid stars 28r 10l

Hi guys
Just wondering when will the new SIDS and STARS will be available in EIDW as we have the new runway there a while now ?

This requires the procedure database as a whole (outside of North America) to be updated - which is sourced from an external provider. Said database is very expensive to keep updated on a global scale. (Partly why things like Navigraph, etc. are so expensive)

Both ends of 10L/28R have a functional ILS I believe so you can still use that. Just vector yourself to the ILS if needed.

Being able to navigate without relying on pre-defined procedure paths is a useful skill (in case you fly to an airport that doesn’t have them).

This is an interesting discussion.

EIDW only has RNAV SID/STARs now. I did not check whether the waypoints are all available in IF’s AIRAC, but I think the only way to do this today is to create a flight plan based on the coordinates published in the AIP using third party tools like this.

But apart from doing that, what do you do? Traffic pattern departure is always available, I suppose, but what do you do when you need to depart in IMC?

Comparing my (subscription) Navigraph to IF, I see that none of the 10L/28R procedures’ waypoints are present in IF…

The workaround I would go with is just to fly basic airliner takeoff profile for heading, speeds, altitudes, until 1000’ AGL or above the MSA, and then direct to the first enroute waypoint and climb to initial cruise altitude.

The manual entries for lat/lon waypoints can only get down to 1 minute precision, I wouldn’t expect to have that grid be usable unless it was a lucky proximity.

FYI - Navigraph is providing 10L/28R charts as of 3 MAR 2023 - I assume there haven’t been major IRL changes since then, and that’s later than IF’s international update, I’m sure.

All the STARS and SID for the new runway at DUB already exists, they just has to be updated to IF

Hopefully we’ll get them soon :crossed_fingers:

I 100% agree, you can’t always rely on “technology” and sometimes when it’s not available you’ve got to handle the situation yourself.

Plus would be a really cool skill to have, to be able to vector yourself perfectly (when the time comes)

Funny how none of them figured they can create custom waypoints using that infinite planner tool all you need is to figure out the GPS coordinates either through exporting the simbrief plan and map them on to that tool or even using kml thing from flight radar or flight aware. To align with the runway, use magnetic heading and intercept with the ils if it works.
