EGBB ATC Approach

Hello all, i just controlled Birmingham approach on the advanced server, yeah IFATC Paul. It was a crazy lone line into Birmingham i can say that. For over and hour this it what it looked like for me

Crazy?! Yeah. Most of all that came by was following instructions very good. But many where also saying messages like with you again after already been told to expect vectors for ils or rv. and requesting ils again for no reason!? Why is that? I was so busy…Have some patient guys. Also if you think i have forgot you. No that is not the case but its you and many others that i have to keep an eye on. So please stay cool me or my fellow controllers will not forget you.

There might be problems because you are routing people outside of the map. Would it be better to zig-zag hold them in downwind and upwinds like they do at Heathrow?

One minor thing: It would have been even more awesome if you built some departure space inbetween. :)

Are you joking…? Ask the guy on tower witch is IFATC Samuel or Air Bavaria i think, i got departures handed of to me quite many times. Not between every landing there was space, but trust me departures came out

I wasn’t happy at all.
Paul vectored me out of the region border and led me flying 170 kts at 5.000 ft for about 20 minutes.

Approach controllers often vector slightly outside of the region where there is insufficient space

That’s what happens when you decide to make your destination an airport with 18 aircraft on approach and 1 runway…

Excatly he’s choice. I am doing my job. Making sure everyone can land safely and with space ahead and in the back…not everyone appreciate it tho…

You can not expect praise here for atc services. Complaints are much easier to come by…

This is great approach vectoring. I don’t think everybody realises how much it takes to vector that many planes to a single runway airport… I was controlling EGBB a little earlier in the day without any approach for some time and it was pretty busy already ^^

PS: I think this makes the holding pattern feature request all the more pressing IMHO - imagine if we could easily stack up planes somewhere near the airport :)

In all fairness, you explain all the time you fly “Realistically as possible”. Yet… Whilst @Paul_petropoulos was providing a careful and well thought out service, you complain about flight time? I don’t understand.

Secondly 😃 I have to agree with Aernout… You never seem pleased.

@Laurens then you try it with 20 aircraft calling you at once. He had no choice to vector you outside of the region.
