During yesterday’s Official IFATC Takeover: United Kingdom, @Aviation_X and I flew a C130 sortie out of Brize Norton (EGVN) as part of EAF’s C130 Advanced Flying Training (AFT) course.
After departing Brize, we flew north towards AARA13 over the Irish Sea, where Madras 7232, a KDC-10 tanker flown by @BorderAviation from 10 Squadron was waiting for us.
After both of us had refuelled from the tanker, we departed south and descended over Morecambe Bay to enter low level at LAKEY, south of Windermere. From there, we routed north through the Lake District, then back south and east through the Yorkshire Dales, climbing back out of low level west of RAF Leeming (EGXE).
After a brief hold, both of us then flew south to conduct a practice approach at Leeds Bradford (EGNM) before returning to Brize Norton.
