As the title implies, I was flying an E175 into Atlanta airport and engaged in approach mode. The plane was established on the localizer and glideslope. and the speed was good. On short final, it was a smooth descent until the plane just decided to nose dive into the runway, I was on Appr mode the entire time. Does anyone know what caused this?
Did you have autothrottle on when APPR was on? APPR doesn’t operate autothrottle and you might’ve accidentally disabled the autothrotttle when the APPR was on.
Just by the way, I recommend not using APPR for landings because landing is part of the fun and practice of IF. If you never practice to land manually you’ll never learn how to do it properly.
Agreed. Although sometimes the intercepts are a bit tricky and APPR can help if you’re struggling and don’t wanna embarrass yourself at some busy airport or something lol.
