Welcome

As I promised in the E-Jet fam feature request thread, here is the topic dedicated to those 🤤 winglets.

Enjoy unless you’re in need of a soul

Kicking off today’s topic is PH-EXW using aerodynamic braking to slow down on the 12,500ft Polderbaan.

Flight Information

Aircraft: Embraer E175STD
Airline: KLM Cityhopper
Registration: PH-EXW
Serial number: 17000710
Flight number: KL1602
Aircraft Age: 3 years, January 2018

Embraer 175s do not need to use reverse thrust on the Polderbaan due to its length. The Embraer aircraft keep their nose up as long as possible, which will bleed off airspeed very efficiently without using brakes or reverse thrust, as seen in this photo.

Flight Information

Aircraft: Embraer 175STD
Airline: KLM Cityhopper
Registration: PH-EXZ
Serial number: 17000723
Flight number: KL1364

Did you know…

that the E175 does not have winglets? No sharklets, not scimitars but rather “Enhanced wing tips”. Enhanced wing tips are the correct term in regards to this aircraft.

Thanks for sharing these very cool pictures! The E175s are really cute aircraft, and often seen around Europe. Always great to see them around, especially if they are as well captured as they are in this topic, and from different perspectives as well :)
