Dulles is nice, but

…the check-in counters and security control are overcrowded and the international terminal needs some escalators to get across. I still had a great last evening in the US before boarding my flight home. This time I flew directly to MUC (not like on my way to the US, s. other topic).

I also got the opportunity to spot a bit, even though the double-glassed windows screwed me over bug time. As always, everything was shot on my phone.

Of course, a tower shot mustn’t be missing!

Like in JFK (s. my TWA Hotel topic), Avianca also flies here with the NEO. One of my most favorite Star Alliance airlines and I have high hopes for the ABRA Group!

Is that a CRJ550?

My first time seeing a Saudia B77W and I was kind of fascinated by the thought of this plane flying to a desert at athe other end of the wolrd in a few hours. Idk why this livery brings me this thought.

My first time seeing this thing… I honestly forgot about the B717 being in service, but it is definitely better than I expected. Sadly Delat doesn’t seem to send more than some old rustbuckets to IAD, so that’s the only Delta aircraft I saw at IAD.

100 Years of Iceland!

Most photos turned out like this, but I had to include this one since I love the A380 (pls. Lufthansa get yourself together and get it back to service… Maybe that’s gonna get you your 5th Star back again)

I was very excited to see this aircraft, jt immediately made me want to fly this route in IF. My first time seeing RAM.

I now officially hate flying across the Atlantic eastward. I slept 0 minutes and wasn’t in the mood to take pictures, hiwever after landing I was greated with the beautiful sight of multiple A340-600s at once (which other airport can say that!?!) which made me super duper happy as I love this aircraft so much ❤

Lufthansa A350: 8/10 (a but tighter than the B748, but better otherwise)

IAD (9/10) I loved the food where I ate and also enjoyed the train.

They send A320s and 737s to ATL but not as many as the 717. It’s all CRJs pretty much to other destinations except Seattle and Salt Lake City, those are on the 738.

DCA is a different story, Delta sends mostly A320 series and 757s with a few regionals to smaller destinations and shuttle routes.

No problem dude 😉 unfortunately I won’t come to the event, but for sure next time 😃

Awesome shots! I actually saw that exact British Airways A380 at Dulles last year!

Really? I flew IAD-MUC last month and it was the complete opposite of this. Security took no more than 2 minutes. What time did you go through?

I saw it on FR24 as well, I went for it anyway ^^

And yeah, DCA is very different. When I landed there from LGA I saw many Delta aircraft (also A220s which made me very happy)

What a coincidence! Thanks! Do you know if that was the A380 that had a water leak? I somewhere saw a headline with Washington as the place, so I am not 100% sure but I read there was a BA A380 with a water leak.

To be fair I went there at 3 pm (even though my flight was at 10 pm) or so, so I had to wait in line with Lufthansa, Brussels, and Austrian passengers for earlier flights to Europe. The security control wasn’t too bad waiting time-wise, maybe 10 minutes, but it was still very crowded.

Yeah I was on the 10pm and I just walked straight through it around 7:30, lol.

I totally love your pictures! They are so beautiful and clean ! I 'm mad about the BA A380 picture!
Have a great flight or day!

I don’t believe it was, it’s still flying regularly and I haven’t seen any issues with its flight records.

I live 20 mins from Dulles hence it’s my home airport
