EK 251 - THE FLIGHT THAT NEVER TOOK OFF
This ultra long haul was Emirates’ attempt to get into Panama and introduce the direct route back in February 2016. At the time, it was due to be the world’s longest non stop flight, beating the Qantas Dallas to Sydney route. It was delayed and put back until Emirates announced it would be postponed.
It proved to be a tough nut to crack. Panama was already a pretty saturated area and Emirates tried to organise a codeshare with Copa to get the route running. In 2018 it attempted to start the route again, but alas, abandoned plans for the foreseeable future. It never happened.
Thanks to Infinite Flight though, that isn’t the case! Bound for Tocumen International, the 777-200LR was fuelled and ready to go on the ground at Dubai. Plan, SIDS and STARS plumbed in, our virtual passengers took to the skies with some great hospitality and we were able to fly the route and see what it would look like. It didn’t disappoint!
