@Dub_aviation’s 2025 Spotting Year Recap
This year delivered up’s and downs for me outside and inside of aviation but I hope you had a fantastic year and wishing you all a happy new year with all the best!
I started my aviation photography 2 years ago when I got my first camera and still with me today, on Christmas Eve. I started off with 18-55 mm kit lens and upgraded to 75-300mm lens last year. My photos weren’t great at the start of this year until I finally purchased my adobe lightroom subscription and that’s where all the improvement had spiked up ever since.

February 14 2025 | New beginnings
This was before purchasing lightroom and one of my first shots with the new 75-300mm lens in Dublin. I was really proud of this shot back then, I did no cropping or editing. Its just a RAW photo.
February 23 2025 | First long exposure shot
Still proud with this shot. I purchased Adobe lightroom a few days after and enhanced the colours. Those red parallel beams of light are from a bus if curious.
February 23 2025 | Getting used to masking in Lightroom
Lol, I thought I was soo tough that I decided to add watermarks to each photo XD.
March 17 2025 | Started to understand editing
I finally got rid of watermarks (Thank god) and started to keep my photos clean and natural in colour though that didn’t stay with me for a very long time. RIP to Play airlines too! 
May 20 2025 | Summer approaching
Started to play around with gradients and improved my masking.
May 27 2025 | Playing around with Manual mode
I cannot even count how many attempts I did to catch a descent, sharp photo with a low shutter speed that day and of course, I got the sharpest shot of a RYANAIR. 
October 27 2025 | Pushing my limits with night photography
I woke up very early in the morning to capture some early morning arrivals. Nights were getting longer and so it was still dark at around 6:30 AM. This was another long exposure shot.
November 23 2025 | Pushing my night photography to a harder level
I tried many times to catch a moving plane and I struggled for almost a full year. I finally somewhat succeeded 1 day before my birthday which for me felt like a nice birthday gift/reward after all those failed attempts.
November 24 2025 | Testing my zoom limits
This shot with 300mm lens is pretty descent in my opinion. I added gradients on both sides to really focus on the subject. This was probably my best shot of an aircraft cruising above.
17 December 2025 | Last photography session of 2025 in Dublin
Malta air (One of my favourite liveries) was a great way to finish planespotting in Dublin for 2025. I spent a lot of time masking and editing this photo and really payed off in my opinion.
So that was it for this year and see you all next year with an upcoming topic of mine related a to trip report. I actually returned yesterday (29th) and I’m currently editing some shots as you’re reading this. Topic should be released on the 1st day of 2026 if no delay
