Drooping Ailerons and Elevators on the NEO ? + Aileron Speedbrake. Possible unique features for the NEO

Hi!

What is the purpose of this topic?

I made this topic to let other people know what interesting features some aircraft have and what could be possible in IF. Here I especially want to convince other users that these features are needed to come in IF as they can offer lightweight but noticeable immersion to the game.

What concrete things are those features on the NEO family?

  • Aileron speedbrakes: The name explains itself really, by touchdown when the speedbrakes are deployed, both Ailerons will point upwards to account for extra drag to slow the aircraft down.
(edit: it seems this is only present on the A320neo, not the A321neo. Still, this should be something to be added)

The A380 enjoyed dancing ailerons, I’m sure we can have Ailerons serving as speedbrakes too in IF.

  • Aileron and Elevator droop: The Aileron and Elevator on the Airbus A320neo family will automatically droop down when the engines are turned off (due to no hydraulic pressure keeping the areas flat. Thus gravity will let the droop to the ground)
This has already been added on the Airbus A380. So why not here?

I hope the devs will note this and will make a possibility for these 2 features to add.
I sincerely hope you will make time for this to think about

These small things make flying in IF so much enjoyable.

Write down your opinions here in the comments.

I think we’ll see the droop, though I’m not sure about the aileron speed brakes. I do hope it does come with the A320neo though! Great topic!!

For the aileron speed brakes, it seems from my own landing videos and online videos that it doesn’t go up for the A321neo. It seems it only goes up for the A320neo. But yeah, I do hope these features will come!!

Thank you for the additional info!
I’m really hoping it will come. Little things like this make the experience 10 times better.

I hope the devs will keep on innovating just like they did with the A380. They’re already doing a great thing with the roll spoilers (though they could be a bit more sensitive).

Hopefully they won’t forget about these details.

I do agree on this and I really hope these will get added. Realism has never hurt anyone ( atleast from what I know)

landing smoke will also enhance the IF popularity

Yes, but I feel like those require project metal to be fully completed. The things I described are perfectly possible to do now.

I hope this topic gains traction and will get the devs attention

hope this topic gain attention

Another tiny feature that the A320neo family has is the strobe lights. I hope Infinite flight will use a different strobe light than the default one in-game because it just doesn’t feel right with the neo. Irl the lights are the fastest(?) of any Airbus and possibly Boeing aircraft. Here’s an example.

Although honestly it’s unlikely for them to modify the strobes because the in-game ones are still somewhat similar to this it would be a nice little thing that would enhance the flight experience

I really hope they take all those details into account, they may be small but it’s what makes the models believable.

Aren’t those the Beacon lights (red, that goes faster?)
I yeah I see now, the strobes blink twice in their interval

Yeah, the strobes on the neos are faster than the ceos, although it is also applied to the ceos with winglets. They are only slightly faster in-game

I would love the drooping feature for the NEOs and any aircraft in general! At the moment I have to droop them myself

I’m glad I’m not the only one calibrating my phone so the elevators droop down, I hope the feature gets added🤞
