Hey everyone! I know that drones and airports don’t usually work well. There are a lot of people, that are not aware of how harming their drones can be to aircrafts.
But I think drones can be a great opportunity for filmmaking especially at airports.
For that we created some footage, which should be one of the first legally filmed airport drone footage. Of course drone pilots, ATCOs and all pilots were in close contact. I have two links for you to show you what possiblities drones offer. Please leave your opinions on what you think of drones at airports. Are they OK? Or should they be banned.
The two videos can be found on the Facebook page of the airport
Sorry, but those links don’t work :/…And no matter what, just seeing how close you are to the airbus not only worries me, but shocks me you were allowed to film…
Hm, 2 friends decide to film some airplanes with their drones. There are some wind gusts at the moment. The drones are at the end of runway 14, and a 787 has just taken off from 32. The plane flies towards your drones, but your drones are ‘too low’ to be struck. Then a gust brings you closer to the runway and the plane gobbles up your drones. Now I’m no engine and fuel tank designer but if something large gets in the engine or fuel tank, it kinda, destroys the Aircraft.
cough
‘Safe flying’ is a common sign off on the forums, but I don’t feel safe flying if drones get flown around an airport and the plane i’m on sucks one up and the plane has to land out in the ocean or a smaller uncontrolled airfield.
