I am drifting on departure/cruise. Why is this happening?
I’m not quite sure what you mean by drifting. Do you happen to have a video of it happening?
could it be crosswind?
Crosswind, or the aircraft has in the IFE “Initial D.” Maybe ailerons and rudder coupled when taking off (which would be void in the sky).
Here it is:
Thats just crosswinds. Its completely normal.
Your plane has to be at an angle for the thrust to offset the crosswind component in order to stay straight on your Flight plan. This happen on literally every single flight both IRL and IF.
Hi, the thrust doesn’t offset the crosswind component, it’s your direction of motion (and speed of that motion) that offsets it. (though the thrust is at on offset angle simply because your motion is at an offset angle).
For example, in a glide with no thrust, you still need the direction of motion offset angle.
As @anon51638241 said, it is normal. You need to point upwind a bit to counter the wind trying to push you to the side.
That literally what I ment.
Hi, I find your replay format nearly impossible to judge, both because of the low resolution and inability to pause or slow it down.
If you would like a more reliable assessment, please upload in a better quality format.
It’s also way too short to sus anything out.
Infinite flight community does not accept my vid source, so I can’t upload anything but gifs :(
You can share the replay using https://sharemyinfiniteflight.com/
Ok, I’ll try it
