Better and older liviries

MacSez: Dave your missing something. The DC-9 was a McDonald Dougkes product. The 717 was built by Boeing. The companies merged in 67 well after the 9 was on line with a DC vice B.

(DC= Douglas Corporation… DC was retained after merger with McDonald)

Internally there are a few additions as well, specifically on a glass cockpit vs ’ steam’’ whilst externally there are very few differences. Mainly tail cones and engines I think?

Was the MD-11 before or after the DC9 became the B717?

The MD-95 is the B717.

No livery requests here please :)

The DC-9 is OLD. It’s been out of production since the 80s. While it does offer some nice liveries, we need more up-to-date aircraft in IF. The old ones just aren’t catching on.

@13yearoldpilot… When I was 13 the DC-9 was revolutionary. Old is good! Ask your father what history teaches us. Max

Why! I think old planes are better. Not by performance though.

Most of the available aircraft on IF were created on the XXth Century, with the exception of the A380 and the F-22.
The DC-9 was created in the XXth Century too.

Exactly! They would be a lot of fun to fly.

Boeing 717 was actually meant to be the McDonnell Douglas MD-95. It was undergoing flight testing when the company’s merged. Boeing changed the name to Boeing 717
