Doc the 2nd To Last Flying B-29 Superfortress

Doc the B29 is the last known airworthy b29 in the entire world. It’s a coincidence that it came by Deer Valley (DVT) this weekend considering it’s memorial day weekend, and it could’ve been anywhere else.

I went out to see it up close because it’s a piece of flying history.

Special shout-out to @slavog on instagram for giving me the opportunity to use his tamron 150-600mm lens!

here she is resting after coming in from her 2nd flight of the day, preparing for her third

departing DVT’s 25L for a quick 35min scenic flight

overflying the airport to enter a left downwind for 25L

DVT isn’t really meant to handle larger aircraft so Doc has to shut down engines 1 and 4 to taxi.

thanks for viewing my topic of flying aviation history!

I thought there were two B-29s still flying? Did something happen to the other one?

Nope, Fifi is still flying and based at Dallas Executive Airport. Fifi flew today in Augusta, Georgia.
