I think IF should do something about that
Why would anyone think getting a violation is a good thing?
If you receive a violation, itâs deserved. If it is not deserved then you should appeal it.
When flying with other people, it is crucial that the experience for everyone be done in mutual respect, if you decide to break that respect, you must be kicked out of that server with an impact on your grade.
If youâre doing something wrong and itâs affecting other pilots, there needs to be a disciplinary system in place. Thereâs no point in having an expert server if thereâs no punishment as it may as well be just a casual server
If you donât think youâve done something wrong then you can always appealâŚ
yeah i loove getting violations. Who doesnt?
I agree with the first three comments above. However, I would like to add on that I donât believe the rules on the Infinite Flight servers are in anyway strict or harsh. They are there only to ensure civility on the servers, and as said above, maintain a degree of mutual respect that is necessary on multiplayer platforms.
Minor violations, such as over speed, only downgrade you a week (last I checked), and they serve as a simple and clear reminder what the expected behaviors on the servers are. A week off is not extreme and itâs only if youâve repeatedly made the mistake. Itâs a good learning lesson.
A major violation would only be incurred when a player has deliberately decided to take an action that disrupts the set server rules, and should be taken seriously. If a controller has made a mistake then it can be appealed.
Perhaps I misinterpreted your original post, however, these are my feelings.
If anything imo there arenât enough violations that are automatic:
- Violating TFRs should be automatic.
- Taxiing through others. (Not flying though as that can happen while both pilots are AFK)
etcâŚ
Can be arranged next time I see you!
Itâs just a question
I believe he was giving a little bit of sarcasm in the title.
Whatâs the point of asking then? The way I read it OP got some violation theyâre complaining about (also connects to their âcan we report ATCâ topic)
I interpreted it as he was expressing his distain from receiving a violation. I donât necessarily agree with the OP because our servers need to be policed even more in my opinion. Bur thats just how I interpreted it .
Violations are a way to maintain that the IF servers have actual serious pilots, and violations are never good. (at least for me, and probably for most people) Like @Mathurin_Garcier and @MPH258 said, if you have a violation, there should be punishment, and itâs good like that.
Yes i honestly think there should be more as you have said with 2 great examples!
Iâd like to order the not following instructions, with a side of.. uhhhh⌠inappropriate username please! Maybe an over speed in airport environment?
Iâve made note and will send the next time I see you
I think this system is one of the big advantages for IF. A good control system, thatâs why we like ES.
Depends if you learn from it and try not to do it again. But following the rules and getting no violations is even better
I agree downgrading is a tough decision but if you think you have been given a unnecessary violation please appeal
Alright thank youđ
