Do you have to fly a published approach for autoland to work.

I am brand new to IF. I have figured out how to build a flight plan. When I get get close proximity to my arrival approach the approach button doesn’t appear. I have read all the info on autoland in ref to following the red marked areas but it the approach button still doesn’t appear. Plz assist

For approach to work you need to be closely aligned with the glideslope and localiser.

Also, you need to make sure you are flying an aircraft with auto land capabilities.

You don’t have to fly a published approach, but it makes it work more smoothly. Flying the Arrival and Approach exactly as published will help you capture the glide slope when you approach the airspace.
