Do you fly faster on Autopilot +?

I’m flying in the coast on South American and another user is “flying in the background” I’m at Mach .88 FL350, they’re at Mach .90, FL360 and the winds are the same at each Alt. Why is their ground speed about 100kts faster than me. How can this be? Is it a bug?

Hey!

It’s because at the moment under AP+, groundspeed stays locked at the last saved value before they went into AP+. So if they entered AP+ when they had a strong tailwind, it would result in have a higher groundspeed for the entire time.

Also fyi you’re wasting fuel by cruising at M0.88 - the 777 typically cruises at M0.84.

I was at .83 but saw the other cruising at 570kts so decided to speed up. (Before I knew it’s from the last saved value lol). Thanks for the explanation

Fuel is free, why waste CPU time?

That works well until you run out of fuel.
