Diverting

Definitely not! We do see widebodies (rarely) and DCA doesn’t have many regional flights. We mostly have flights to Florida, California, New York, and the East Coast. We have international flights to Toronto, Ottowa, Montreal, and San Juan. And DCA rarely sees turboprop, propellor, and private aircraft.

ATC Schedule doesn’t show any of the NY airports as open today, so I think your best bet is PHL or BOS.

i aint from US, nor have I ever been to either New York or Washington DC, just Miami, Orlando, Key West, San Diego and LA. But it is called Reagan National so that is why I thought like that. also I shaded “it least I think so”

I just got to hope that either one of them have atc later on today

Yep! They’re pretty popular, so at least one of them should be open.

Regardless of size of airplane, IRL DCA has a strict perimeter rule of 1,250 nautical miles with only a few exceptions (e.g., Alaska Air direct to SETAC). Flights to/from DCA that originate outside of that perimeter, sans exceptions, would not be permitted.

@Zach007… MaxSez: KDCA has a Type size restriction:

NOTAM: DCA 12/042 DCA TWY N BTN APCH END RWY 15 AND TWY K CLSD TO ACFT WINGSPAN MORE THAN 124FT 1712032049-PERM…

KDCA permits GA which utilize “Signature Aviation” FBO. GA must apply for a DCA Access Standard Security Program (DASSP) certificate and request services from the airport authority in advance.

And Runway 22/04 is closed

Would love to see a 4 departure. Direct collision course with P-56A restricted airspace.

I guess a fighter jet could handle it if they climbed to 18000 while still over the river or DCA

Well I’m about an hour out and I don’t see anyone at KBOS or KPHL so I guess I will just fly to KEWR if atc doesn’t open which is fine i mean I don’t mind if they aren’t there

If you want to practice communicating with ATC, change into a smaller plane and fly some patterns at a controlled airport. I wouldn’t divert to an airport that can’t even handle your plane.

Well yes but in expert you rarely ever are allowed to fly patterns but I won’t divert to DCA seeing how my plan can’t handle it but I can divert to KBOS but there is no one there

Can we keep this to topic please

How I just talked about diverting and atc?

As in generally, I wasn’t pointing to anyone

You’re probably going to the busier airports. The smaller bravo or Charlie airports usually allow patterns. When I control (only Charlie airports for now) I always allow pattern work.

Well I guess I will remain on schedule and on task and just fly to my destination thanks for the help though

Well yippee a controller opened KBOS and it looks like I’m going to divert there

Don’t rely on vectors. (Although they are nice).

A wonderful creation called STAR charts are used for an airport. Don’t know what they are?

Time to learn!
