Different voice options in different mobiles

Hello!! I’m in a process of switching cell phones (currently testing)
In my old cell phone I have more voice options and in the cellphone I’m changing I don’t have more than two options. Why is that and how to get more voice options?

On my phone, the only male voice I have is in a British accent. Which is annoying be cause I am American. If I want an American English accent, I have to use a female voice.


You need to download the voices to your device. Go to Setttings → Accessibility → Spoken Content → Voices. Once there, you’ll see a whole list of downloadable voices.


  1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google app

  2. At the bottom right, tap More, and then Settings. and then Voice.

What you mean by Google app?

My apologies, if you have an Android you need to go to your General Settings → Text-to-Speech (TTS) and then you’ll see more available voices to download. If that doesn’t work, see the recommendation from Seb in the Support Faq here:
