Difference between the C206 and C172?

Hey everyone. After spotting aircraft today, I realized that not all cessnas are the same. Take the 206 and 172. Is there an easy tell tale way to spot the difference? Thanks! :)

From the exterior, the C206 is bigger and wider. But overall, the C172 is known as a newer aircraft and more used. The cockpit is said to be nicer, but I personally haven’t flown in a C206. The 206 is like an alternative to the Pilatus PC-12. C172s are MUCH cheaper than the C206, with the 206 being around $350,000 per unit, and the older 172s are close to $100,000.

That top picture appears to be a Cessna 207. The 206 is a little smaller and not as long.

C206. Bigger engine, more payload, faster cruising speed, higher ceiling and range.

C172. usually between 140-180 hp. 4 seats. Range is about 4-5 hours, most people train in 172s for there PPL. Payload between 2000 and 2500 pounds
