Afew weeks ago I did a flight from Juba International Airport, South Sudan to Moqadishu’s Aden Adde International Airport, Somalia, one of the first flights i did in years, and I could SWEAR the ICAO code for Juba International Airport was HSSJ, now according to Navigraph and Wikipedia its HJJJ, maybe the ICAO finally is giving South Sudan more independence as a country by giving it its own ICAO code, but I still don’t know. I’m not going crazy right, Did South Sudan change its ICAO prefix for airports?
According to Flightradar24 the ICAO code is still HSSJ. Below are graphs found on the internet which shows the prefix breakdown, first by region, then by country. South Sudan still has the HS prefix according to this
Looking at Navigraph, the code seems to have changed to HJJJ since I believe AIRAC 2105. I’ll let IFAET know, thanks for spotting!
