I have a theory…according to this Simple Flying article, the plane hit the ground at 170 mph, which is pretty fast. The pilots might have desperately tried to slow it down, so the speed probably significantly dropped. When the go-around was initiated, the plane was already going pretty slow so it had trouble climbing up and getting off the ground, which led to the tail strike.

I didn’t take this information out of the article, I only cited it because that’s where I got the speed info from.

So that’s why my AliExpress packages were late…

In my opinion, I think it tried to initiate a go around but a) had slowed down enough that they couldn’t quite get off the ground until they gained some speed, or b) they were too heavy to get off the ground immediately.

To me, it appears that the pilot gave too much pitch input too fast, and for either of the reasons listed above, hit the tail on the runway.

That’s just my opinion tho, and it’s far from a professional one lol.

Very interesting, your theory makes sense.

Just wish we had ATC and pilot communication. Of all places to not have Heathrow ATC

Things we took for granted in IF, but what will happen to the pilot in such cases?:scream: Are they allowed to keep their job after this? Will the company cut their pay for damages?
