Devices used for IF

Hello!

I am thinking of getting a new device for Infinite Flight and am stuck on what I should get? I am wondering if I should stick to iPhone or if I should get a new iPad. If so which model either the normal or mini?

Many Thanks!

Hi! It doesn’t really matter both iPhone and iPad are really good for gaming and for Infinite Flight. It all goes down to personal preference. Both devices perform well with the sim. I use the iPad and I love it.

I second the iPad! Performance wise I think they are both suitable. Also I get a bit annoyed when trying to waypoints or procs on a smaller iPhone screen. And given my age, bigger screen = always better! 😅

When using it to turn or to lift, does it feel a bit to big or still the perfect size

A bit large (mine is the previous gen ipad air) especially when I’m laying down on the couch. But it’s really a non issue for me and I don’t mind. Just keep in mind that if you use an ipad case with a cover, then it can get a bit cumbersome. In the end I got used to it

I played IF on a phone for like 5 years and then I got an iPad. Would never go back. So much easier to reach and adjust everything plus you get more widgets.

Bonus: you can do longer flights because you’re less likely to suddenly need an iPad compared to a phone.

iPad is way to go! I play IF both on phone and iPad. It makes life much easier because

  • I don’t have to mind juggling between apps especially when I do long hauls
  • using a larger screen makes controlling much easier (if you aim to be an IFATC) because, you know, easier to spot planes and give commands without worrying about wrong commands, small buttons, and my multitasking definitely improves
  • because of it’s heavier than a phone, it somewhat makes a much more stable takeoff and approach

that’s my 2centsâœŒđŸ»yeah I think iPad is better in general

Thanks for your help! Im looking at iPads and wondering if the base model (10) is good enough to run Infinite Flight at high quality?

I just recently upgraded from an 8th gen to a 10th gen and I would say it’s worth getting! Runs the game beautifully, no performance issues.
