Device Turning Off

Device: iPad Mini 2

This just happened a night ago. Whenever I’m like 10-15 minutes into a flight without touching it, my device turns off. I’ve restarted and updated my device and turned off auto-lock. Can someone please help?

Hello!

Can you provide some more details including device software and version of the app.

Also try some of these solutions to see if they help:

  • Keep as much unused internal device memory (RAM) available. 1GB is the minimum recommended you should have available before launching Infinite Flight
  • Andorid only: Change device display resolution
    * Settings > Display > Display size to Large, Larger or Largest.
    * Some devices will offer to change Display Resolution instead, set that to the smallest possible.
  • Ensure Text to Speech (TTS) is enabled
  • Disable active ad or message blocking apps
  • Don’t modify, “Root”, or “Jailbreak” your device
  • Use a strong WiFi network within a relatively close proximity to your device
  • Lower Infinite Flight graphics and performance settings
  • Lower the Rendering Resolution setting
  • Lower the Rendering Quality setting
  • Disable Anti Aliasing
For in-flight performance issues, please refer to these helpful tips:

“Global” update status, performance issues and workarounds

As a final resort, reset the device to factory settings. Be sure to back up all important data on your device first.

I have the latest IOS 11.4, and how do I check my RAM I have left? @Matt

I’ve been having a very similar problem as well. Strangely, the app itself doesn’t seem to be crashing.
I have an IPad Air 2, latest iOS if anyone has some insight.

Yeah, my iPad just turns off

I’m not sure of the best way to proceed then, assuming you’ve tried all of the things I mentioned at the start then I can’t help anymore. Probably best to wait for one of the Devs/Mods to answer with a more official answer for you.

Ok! Thanks for your help.

Hello!

Just to be clear, the device is shutting down completely? It’s not just the app crashing?
If so, do you see a spinning circle during the shutdown process? And is it restarting or do you have to power it back up?

No, the device is not shutting off, where the Apple logo comes on, the device just turns off. It’s doesnt shut down, it turns off.

Do you have the latest iOS installed on your device?

Also make sure lock orientation is on

Yes I do iOS 11.4 and lock orientation is on

If your device is shutting down, it’s most likely some kind of issue with your device. Not necessarily hardware related, so a factory reset could help.

The issue you are experiencing is iOS rebooting Springboard, which is the graphical interface for iOS.
It’s hard to determine what the exact cause could be, but i would most definitely recommend a factory reset at this point.
