Airbus A321neo — The Bestselling Narrowbody Jet Ever
Today, I’m starting a series in which I highlight the Airbus A321neo, Airbus’s most recent aircraft and the most ordered single aircraft variant in history. With an impressive 7,000+ orders, the A321neo shows a clear market dominance over the 737 MAX 9 and 10, and will gradually become the most common airliner in the skies.
For now, this series will focus on U.S. operators of the type, but I may decide to include others in the future should I feel so inclined.

United Airlines’ first A321neo entered service in December of 2023. Having been steadily introduced since then, they now operate 36 neos, with orders for 94 more, as well as orders for the long range A321XLR.

JetBlue’s first A321neos entered service in September 2019. Since then, the airline has taken delivery of 26 of the type, and has orders for 33 more. This aircraft, N4083J, is painted in the special Mint livery, and affectionately named “Minternationally Known.”

Airbus A321neo — The Bestselling Narrowbody Jet Ever
Virgin America, Alaska Airlines, and American Airlines
Virgin America took delivery of N921VA, and A321neo, in April 2017. Not even a year later, Alaska Airlines acquired Virgin America and all airframes were transferred to Alaska, including 921:
Alaska Airlines, which previously had an all-Boeing fleet, decided to sell all their A321neos to fellow Oneworld member American Airlines in 2023.
American Airlines later reregistered the aircraft as N950XV. It remains in service today.
