Descent altitude reminder

When I am flying in IF, I have been using the VNAV function in autopilot to automatically descend, which is a great feature that can prompt me how far I still need to manually turn on VNAV. But there have been times when I was busy with other things during the cruise phase and missed connecting the VNAV. I would like to ask if it is possible to consider adding an alarm like tool in the IF to remind us of the need to operate the VNAV for descent through sound, vibration, and other means when the plane reaches the descent point, in order to avoid missing the descent point during flight? Thanks a lot!

Honestly if you think you will be AFK for a long period of time, just turn on the VNAV so you won’t have to worry about missing it, but also if you think you will be AFK for longer than the flight, I recommend pausing or ending the flight because if you descend below 10000 feet you will get violations since your going too fast, so just keep that into consideration.

Hope this helps and have a great day/night! :)

Thanks for your advice!!!
A relatively feasible solution at present is not to set the altitude below 10000ft, and as you said, to connect VNAV from the beginning, which can increase the reaction time a bit, but it makes people feel a bit flustered in the final stage of landing. Of course, I can stop other things during descent and landing, but without any prompts, I will have to check from time to time.

arming VNAV and then going afk or falling asleep will only lead to level 1 violations
My suggestion is not arming it at all, only engage VNAV around 10-3 minutes to your top of descent
If you think you’re going to be afk and unable to land, just let your aircraft continue as filed and it’ll do circles for a while over the last missed waypoint (unless the last missed waypoint was the final waypoint in your flightplan)
You should always carry around 5 maybe 10 tonnes of extra fuel. I do this all the time, just fly circles over my arrival airport in case I miss the TOD, and then descend manually when I can

I strongly suggest not doing this. If you happen to not be on your device when VNAV activates, you’ll start getting level 1 violations. It’s not worth the risk.

You can put VNAV on the information panel at the bottom of your screen. (Press and hold on the panel, then drag around until you find VNAV). That will tell you in hours and minutes, when your TOD is going to be (or when to climb for stepclimbs, beware). Then you can set an alarm on another device.

i would just not arm it, and if i miss my tod, id just go back or descend in circles, but making it as realistic as can be (following the star, etc)
