How long before landing should I start my descent
On an A380 at 41,000 ft for example
Open the ap tab and when vnav says “1” press it and maintain your speed
Is it good to maintain the speed you are at?
Not necessarily for starters once you go below 10,000ft MSL, the speed limit is 260kts IAS and if you’re over that limit for a too long you will receive a level 1 violation
And for slippery aircraft (like the A380) descending early and not steeply is the key to reach that speed before 10,000ft

I usually descend at a speed where the nose is leveled all the way till touchdown. Not sure if this is also done IRL but I do it.
