Delta’s 100 Year Anniversary Livery Sneak Peak

Delta's 100 Year Anniversary

Atlanta - based Delta Air Lines will celebrate its 100th birthday in March of 2025.

Delta Air Lines traces its roots to a small crop-dusting operation founded in 1924 in Macon, Georgia, called Huff Daland Dusters. This humble company, primarily focused on combating the boll weevil pest infestations in Southern cotton fields, became the first commercial agricultural flying company in the United States. By 1928, the company relocated to Monroe, Louisiana, and rebranded as Delta Air Service, named after the Mississippi Delta region it served. In 1929, Delta transitioned into passenger service with its inaugural flight from Dallas, Texas, to Jackson, Mississippi.

Delta steadily expanded throughout the 1900s, acquiring routes and other airlines like Northeast Airlines in the 1970s and Pan Am’s transatlantic routes in 1991, which helped establish its international presence. Its innovative approach included the launch of the hub-and-spoke model in the 1950s.Over the years, Delta introduced other industry-firsts, such as offering Wi-Fi on domestic flights and creating a carbon-offset program

The Livery

A yet - completed Airbus A321neo was spotted in Hamburg on the assembly line with a silver tail and not-seen-before livery. While we don’t know what the full livery will look like, Delta Air Lines also plans to deploy a similar special 100th anniversary celebration livery on Airbus A350 having MSN720, at least according to reporting by Aviation A2Z.
