Delta Retiring All Boeing 777s By Fall 2020

Why? Retire the older 757/767s first? Goodbye legend 😭

This is truly devastating. A fantastic plane to bite to dust with Delta 😭

The airline industry has been hit hard a lot because of travel restrictions and I guess that conserving money for any airline at this point would be the most important thing.

Wait till Delta fans see this.

Yeah so sad 😔😔😔😔

Like I said, they have a huge fleet of 757s, which allows for fleet commonality with the 767, while the 777 is a subfleet.

I hate it when ever airliners retire the legends. Like this, and maybe idk a380? I forgot.

A380 must be kept alive

Honestly no idea if the A350-900 can operate ATL-JNB without payload restrictions

Highly unlikely, the A380 is quickly dying out as Emirates cancelled its major order. And 4 engine plane configuration is losing demand.

well i hope the rework will still make the delta 777-200 still seem usable before its over

@Ishrion do you think Delta Airlines will keep the New York - Mumbai Route on the A359

If there’s still demand for the route, then yeah it’ll likely be replaced by the A350

Fingers crossed that the route doesn’t close

Delta’s official press release:

Delta will continue flying its fleet of long-haul next generation Airbus A350-900s, which burn 21% less fuel per seat than the 777s they will replace

Wow, poor DLVA.
Delta must be losing a lot of money if it came to this.

Aww man. That’s a real shame. They should’ve got rid of their a330s or even a350s and kept the gorgeous 777s. Sad to see 777s leaving this early 😔
