Delta has retired the MD-88 and MD-90
The end of an era for the Mad Dog is here.
- Delta Air Lines has decided to retire its remaining MD-88s and MD-90s in June 2020.
- The retirement for the MD-88 has been accelerated from December 2020 to six months earlier.
- There are currently a few MD-88s and MD-90s left in service.
Delta has now flown the final flights for the MD-88/90, on June 2, 2020. Both have special flight numbers.
DL88 from Washington Dulles (IAD) to Atlanta with MD-88
DL90 from Houston-Intercontinental (IAH) to Atlanta with MD-90
Delta is the final MD-90 operator and one of the final MD-80 operators in the U.S. Sad to see these go.
