Delta Finalizes Order For 10 Airbus A350s (Possibly A350-1000s)

Delta has finalized its takeover of 10 LATAM A350s.

In September 2019, Delta announced it would purchase a 20% stake in LATAM

As part of the stake, Delta would acquire four of LATAM’s A350s on order along with an additional ten A350s.

Delta has now confirmed it has completed the acquisition of LATAM’s A350s, meaning Delta now has ten more A350s on order.

Last month, LATAM cancelled an order for six A350-1000s and four A350-900s. LATAM confirmed this was apart of the switch to Delta.

So, does this mean Delta now has six A350-1000s on order?

I thought about this a few hours ago, and Simple Flying just suggested it as well. At the moment, Delta has no A350-1000s in its fleet or on order. However, last month, Airbus also recorded an order for ten A350-900s from an undisclosed customer.

While it’s possible Delta may takeover the six LATAM A350-1000s, Delta may be the undisclosed customer for the 10 A350-900s.

What are your thoughts? Do you think Delta is taking over the six A350-1000s? Or have they converted them into A350-900s?

If anyone hears any confirmation for these 10 A350 variants, let us know.
