Another one of those routes I’ve been wanting to do for some time, but haven’t been able to due to outside commitments, the lack of the airport being in 3D, or in this case, the time of year, is from frigid Minneapolis, Minnesota, to sunny Palm Springs, California. It’s quite the scenic flight, taking passengers over the Great Plains, the Rocky Mountains, and the Grand Canyon. 10/10 would fly again!

Time En Route: 3 Hours 33 Minutes
Boarding at Gate F5 on a cold Minnesota morning
Ready to start our taxi to the other side of the airport for departure
Climbing away from Runway 10
In climb over the Old Northwest, from which Minneapolis’s former hometown airline and the carrier Delta inherited the hub from got its name
Cruising over the Great Plains of southwest Nebraska. Not a lot of corn in the Cornhusker State this time of year.
Encountering some very rocky air over the Rocky Mountains, near Telluride, according to the flight tracker
Descending past Lake Havasu
Arriving in a cloudy Palm Springs
Looking back at our plane from the parking lot. In one of life’s little ironies, not only did we leave from Gate F5 at an airport with a FAA LID ending in -SP, we arrived at another airport with a LID ending in -SP and parked at Gate 5 there.
