Delta Adds “New” Route From Seattle

Delta Adds Fort Lauderdale From Seattle

Source

Delta has announced a resumption of a route that has been canceled for almost 4 years now. Seattle to Fort Lauderdale last flew in early 2019, and no word from Delta was mentioned after that service was quietly canceled.

Technically, this is a resumption of service, but after almost 4 years, it seems like a new one to me. This route will directly compete with a Alaska, who operates to daily flights, and JetBlue, who flies on a seasonal basis.

The route will start just in time for the Christmas season, on December 16 on a Boeing 737-900.

Delta 558 will depart Seattle at 8:00 AM. and land at FLL at 4:25 PM (5h 25m).
Coming back, Delta 559 will depart FLL at 6:00 PM, and land at SEA at 9:00 PM (6h block time).

I’m excited to see this new route! Especially to see how Delta can compete against Alaska and JetBlue.

A Near 4 years? Wow, I’m happy this route is coming back.
