Delta A350 Atlanta to Santiago

Been a while since I’ve done a proper long-haul flight, so I gave this one a go with an aircraft I don’t use very often, precisely because of how many of the routes this particular aircraft is used by this particular airline on are well in excess of 12 hours.

Server: Solo
Aircraft: Airbus A350-900 XWB
Airline: Delta Air Lines
Route: KATL-SCEL
Seat: 7A (Delta One)
Time En Route: 8 hours 37 minutes

Boarding in Atlanta with the ATC tower lit up

Those big Trent 1000s sure do get us going!

Moonrise over Florida

Crossing the Equator; officially in the Southern Hemisphere

Andes Mountains off our port wing

Sunrise under the Southern Cross

Beginning our descent

Rolling out on Runway 17R in Santiago

Nice! Cool Pictures. I like how you made it look like a passenger POV. However, isn’t port and starboard a boat thing? Because I’m a pilot and I hardly EVER hear those terms. It doesn’t matter just curious.

Thanks! Yeah, it’s normally a boat thing, but I’ve also heard port and starboard used in aviation too.
