Deleting your IF Account

Hey folks! Hope you are all doing fantastic :) 🙌

If I was to delete my IF account, does this remove all of your Violations and stats? And on the image below, it says “your subscription will still remain but on a anonymous account.”

Does this also mean that my IFC account will get deleted? If I was to delete my account, could I not link it via the Forum?

If someone can answer my question, that will be great! 😄

Let me know if this topic needs to be moved to another category :)

Cheers,

@If.EnglandYT ;) 🙂

Hey there!

No, your IFC account will be unaffected. It will simply be unlinked from your subscription, and you will have to re-link it (if you choose to do so) after deleting your IF account. Same goes for your Discord account.

Deleting your IF account only affects your in-app stats, (XP, Flight hours, Landings, ATC ops, etc.)

Does anyone know what I do now?

I’m trying to link my IFC account to my Subscription but it doesn’t work

If you’ve deleted your account and you attempt to sign in with IF (prompting the IFC authorization window to appear), it’s not gonna work, since deleting your account has unlinked the IFC from it. You’ll have to reconnect it through IF’s settings → Account → Community Forum Account on your anonymous account with the active subscription.

So if I’m correct, I’m on this page right here:

I have connected it already but my pro sub still isn’t showing

Oh you’ve already connected your IFC to another empty account, different from the one your subscription is linked to.

Not to worry, though! Follow these steps and you’ll get your subscription account back:

  1. On your current screen from the screenshot above, tap “if.EnglandYT”, which will prompt your IFC account to be unlinked. Confirm this - since it’s an empty account, you will not lose any data.
  2. Tap “Get Pro”, then tap “Revert to Default Account” - this will bring you back to the account with your active subscription.
  3. On this account, head to Settings → Account → Community Forum Account, tap “Connect” on the right hand side of your screen, authorize the connection when prompted, and you should be good to go, with your IFC account linked to your active subscription.

So I’ve done the 1st and 2nd step, but now, I have issues with the third

I can’t press “Connect”

What happens when you tap “Get Pro”?

This page first:

Then if I tap more options
 This happens.

Did you purchase your subscription on the device you’re performing these actions from?

Yes, I purchased my subscription like in 2018 or something.

For some reason, the app doesn’t recognize you have an active subscription when you revert to the default account.

What matters is that the device you’re linking your IFC from is the same as the device you’ve purchased your subscription from. It may prove problematic if you’ve purchased the subscription from your phone and are trying to link your IFC from your tablet.

Is your subscription still displayed as active on the App Store?

If you tap any of the subscription plans, does it prompt you to pay for another subscription or does it eventually tell you you’re already subscribed? If the former is happening, and your subscription is displayed as active on the App Store, do not purchase another subscription, since that way, you’d effectively be subscribed twice.

Whereabout’s can I find that on the App Store?

I also have to add is that when I bought my IF sub, it was on an another iPad of mine ages ago. That other iPad of min is now very old. This is my current iPad (IPad Pro) that I use to play IF with

I have a strong feeling it’s to do with my google account, whilst logging into the IFC.

I’m going to try and log out of the IF community completely if i can.

I recently changed my Gmail password and on my iPad, it probably does recognise my new Password.

I’m not so sure how you feel about this.

Device settings → Your name → Subscriptions. You should see it there if it’s active, as well as some managing options.

No, this is unrelated. It’s an issue with your IF app recognizing your active subscription.

Can you please give your current iPad a reboot for good measure?

Can’t see it in my Device settings. Are you talking about in App Store

I will restart it now.

I really hope I haven’t lost my Sub đŸ„ș

I’ve rebooted my device and it’s the same concept

Whether you go through the device’s settings and tap your Apple ID at the very top of your device’s settings → Subscriptions, or open the App Store → your Apple ID’s profile picture → Subscriptions shouldn’t matter, as the subscription should be linked to your Apple ID either way. Try both, if you’d like - but it should give you the same page with your subscriptions.
