Global Update | The known bugs - And how to fix them.

Greetings fellow forum users, I have made this topic in the better assist the community in times of needing Infinite Flight support.

This is not the place to make a support request. If your issue is not fixed after trying the method to fix your problem, or if your problem isn’t listed here, please make a detailed support thread describing your issue.

NOTAM:

Current, known bugs within the ‘December 2017’ update

  • Corrupt terrain files - black box displays on screen (2): IMAGES
  • Sinking aircraft when landing due to corrupt terrain file (3): VIDEO
  • Some airports have weird elevations (4) (Sunk into terrain - others above terrain - leaving a big slope)
  • App crashes when too many way points are pasted into the “search” tab on the map. (6)
  • Free cam jumps around when getting too close to the plane (7)
  • Long haul flights crash on old devices(8)
  • Servers will randomly go down (9)
  • ATC will sometimes not switch frequencies (12)
  • Not able to spawn at South Pole Station - Jack F. Paulus Skiway (NZSP) (14)
  • Crashing while controlling ATC on lower tier devices (15)
  • Landing Gear Camera Issue - Camera Angle is Inside the Aircraft (17)
  • Engine Sounds Reversed VIDEO: DC-10 | B737-900 (18)
  • Infinite Flight Crashes After Startup (19)
  • KC-10 Boom Retracted when Deployed (Live) (20)
  • Terrain Glitch, KLGA short final for 22 (3)

One-time, non-reproducible bugs

  • Aircraft engine makes a weird sound during climb: VIDEO (10)
  • ATC button does not stop flashing after clicking (11)

Removed Features - Not Bugs (Features will return in a later update)

  • Terrain warning on the map is no longer present
  • Event reminder Home page of IF (Feature Request Here)
  • Website subscription purchasing no longer available (This feature is not likely to return)

Features That Have Been Changed - Not Bugs

  • Autopilot buttons have been rearranged on the screen to better optimize your device. The position of the buttons are not movable.

Archived Bugs

Bug - iPhone X screen issue (1)

Solution: This issue has been fixed. Thank you for your patience

Removed Feature - Landing Aid is no longer an option (Red Boxes)

This feature has been added back in the December 2017 update. Time to stick those landings ;)

Emergency fuel ATC command sometimes not working (5)

Solution: This issue has been fixed. Thank you for your patience

Bug - Not being able to push back in DC-10 or MD-11 (16)

Solution: This issue has been fixed. Thank you for your patience

Bug - Strobe light not visible from cockpit view (Live) (13)

Solution: This issue has been solved. Thank you for your patience.

Fixes to the bugs!

Bug - Black Box displays in terrain (2)

Solution: A simple re-installation of Infinite Flight should fix the issue. A further device restart is also recommended.

Bug - Aircraft sinks into terrain during landing (3)

Solution: A simple re-installation of Infinite Flight should fix the issue. A further device restart is also recommended.

Bug - Some Airports have weird elevations (4)

Solution: Airports are constantly being updated. If you see an airport that looks funny, please refer to this topic to report the inaccuracies correctly to the editing team. Do no create a topic in Support.

Bug - App crashes when too many way points are pasted into “search” tab (6)

Solution: Currently, there is no accurate solution to this issue. If this happens, try and reduce the amount of way points inserted.

Bug - Free cam jumps around when getting too close to the plane (7)

Solution: Currently, there is no accurate solution to this issue. This issue is due to lag on Live servers. The developers have stated a fix for this issue is in the works.

Bug - Long haul flights crash on old devices (8)

Solution: When cruising, reduce graphics to the lowest possible settings. Set the airplane count to “Low”, and turn the brightness all the way down. Turning time to night, turning anti anazlying off, and restarting your device before a flight is also a good way to prevent crashing. Turning on Low Power Mode (Via Infinite Flight settings) is also recommenced. Be sure you have cleared your device RAM before doing a long haul flight. After a crash, please restart your device and repeat the steps above

Bug - Servers randomly go down (Includes weather, API services) (9)

Solution: Currently, there is no accurate solution to this issue. Be sure you keep a good connection during the duration of the flight.

Bug - A320 engine makes a weird sound during climb (10)

Solution: A simple re-installation of Infinite Flight should fix the issue. A further device restart is also recommended.

Bug - ATC button does not stop flashing after clicking (11)

Solution: A simple re-installation of Infinite Flight should fix the issue. A further device restart is also recommended.

Bug - ATC will sometimes not switch frequencies (12)

Solution: A restart of the app is a way to fix this temporarily, but FDS is working on an official fix for this issue.

Bug - Not able to spawn at South Pole Station - Jack F. Paulus Skiway (NZSP) (14)

Solution: There is no solution for this issue. A fix is in the works. Thank you for your patience.

Bug - ATC crashing while controlling (15)

Solution: Unfortunately, there is no solution to this and a fix is expected to be released in the next update. Be sure you have Infinite Flight as the only app running to prevent this issue

Bug - Landing Gear inside Airplane while on the ground (17)

Solution: This is a known bug on some aircraft whilst on the ground. This should not happen while in the air. A fix for this issue is in the works.

Aircraft Affected:

  • Dash 8-400

Bug - Engine Sounds Reversed (18)

Solution: There are no current solutions to this issue as it is a brand new bug, it will be fixed soon.

Bug - Infinite Flight Crashes After Update (19)

Solution: None at this time, except for one user who managed to launch the app after updating to iOS 11.2 after having restarted multiple times. (Statement from Staff)

Bug - KC-10 Boom Rectracted when Deployed (Live) (20)

Solution: Have the pilot retract and redeploy the boom on his/her perspective.

Love how you took the time and effort you took to post this!

I’ve had this happen to me once on iOS. Restarted the application and it worked fine.

I have not experienced this, but numerous people on the IFFG (Infinite Flight Fan Group on Facebook) are starting to report that they are picking up unknown violations after their flight which did not show up during the flight.

Impossible. They must be over speeding during cruise.

Thank you for this summary. Do we know why the named features (terrain warning/purchasing on www.infinite-flight.com ) have been removed? I had noticed about the terrain warning but I’ve noticing only today about the login/purchasing on the IF page. Perhaps it had been said and I missed it…!?
Personally I’m regretting this change for both, as the terrain warning was actually a recent feature which helped a lot in areas with mountains and purchasing a live subscription was muh cheaper as purchasing on iOS where a provision is included!

The terrain warning and landing aid were removed due to performance issues, and are expected to make a return soon.

I personally don’t know why the website is no longer an option to purchase a subscription, and I don’t want to speculate. @schyllberg Any answer?

A good thing personally though I think is that a lot of people’s devices can’t support global anymore, so let’s say if someone bought the sub first without knowing that then his money got wasted.

Well I don’t think that’s a valuable reason, in my opinion, as FDS can also refund in that case. I thought initially that the homepage would be updated as well, perhaps it is the case? Do we have a confirmation about not being available anymore?

The weird engine sound is not just on the a320. I experienced it today on the SR22.
