Yes but what I am saying is that if people take the time and go to them and say wow this is nice it would say to the IFATC people hey I like this. I fully get what you are saying about traffic my solution is try it again and just see what is there to lose come on
Ans yes I will bring it up with Tyler ;)
And also there was only a certain amount of people wanting the Saudia livery on the 777 yet it got added
Yes, that wasnāt directed at you in particular. Spreadinā the word.
I understand I am a specialist and I agree that the more the merrier
Thatās the thing, people donāt take their time to go there, to those places that are considered underrated or exotic or beautiful that very little amount visit. No matter if IFATC is there traffic doesnāt reach enormous amounts, as most pilots are drawn to bigger well-known international hubs and IFATC gets kinda forced to open those known common, usual spots over and over again.
We all want variety we say, but clearly pilot behavior says otherwise, and thus many time that IFATC opens up on underrated places, I find myself going there to findā¦ me, ATC and nothing moreā¦ some cool scenery but the traffic is low, very low or not even there.
Now having kore varied selection of liveries featuring these areas would help, probably, but for how long and how much we donāt know. I too much like you would love to see more African, South American and Asian liveries but since the US and European market dominate as much as they do, catering towards them is more viable since more people in a majority will part take in flying most added liveries and flying to places the Western society knows better will attract more pilots too.
Surely over the years we have gotten some cool additions such as TAAG for 772 and China Eastern for A350, but I understand that many of us users wish to see more liveries outside US and Europe for more variety, a variety that would in theory at least add to the amount of traffic in certain places around the world.
Not to discourage you reaching out privately, but I think the conversation can stay here for the part of the audience that might need it most.
I donāt believe this is an ATC issue. Take this weekās schedule as a great exampleā¦ weāll head to Africa and youāll see significantly less traffic because pilots would prefer to go to the same airports (staffed or unstaffed) or theyāll end up at the usual suspects within the region (SBGR/FAOR).
Iāve spent a considerable amount of time piecing together schedules which steer us towards more unique locations. Each time results in less traffic, thus less controllers. The controllers donāt want to staff a facility that has no traffic where theyāre stuck for an hour (IFATC staffing requirement) to watch the virtual grass grow.
I appreciate you raising concern and hope this can encourage a few readers to challenge themselves by choosing an aircraft, livery, and airport they wouldnāt normally select.
Also props to @Dan_77 for the great response! š
EDIT: Here is a recent response regarding livery selection and internal decision making:
Continuing the topic of exploring different areas, Iām in a virtual airline, so I often fly provided routes. However, I also often fly unique routes in GA aircraft exploring different terrains and maps around the IF world, I highly recommend this as you get to see the beauty and the detail of the terrain even if it just satellite imagery. On the topic of missing airline liveries, It does suck. Personally, there are a few liveries that Iād like to have in infinite flight, one being Air Transat and more WestJet liveries. However, as explained above, there are some good reasons why we donāt have them, the best we can do is just vote on them and hope for the best. š¤·āāļø
Happy flying!

Think of IF as a restaurant. Say you go to eat at this restaurant, and you want to order a dish with sardines. However, you are one of the few people in town who likes sardines. Therefore, it wouldnāt be cost effective for the restaurant to have more than one, if any, dishes containing sardines. The restaurant would be better suited to having another dish more people would enjoy.
Now, Iām not saying people wouldnāt enjoy the suggested livery, however people are more likely to use and enjoy those of bigger airlines, in countries in which IF has more users.
1 Michelin Star for you.
That analogy was one of the better ones Iāve read regarding this. Nice one :)
Um sorry what? On the contrary, IndiGo is used quite oftenā¦
As for IFATC, Iām still waiting for several airports to be featured, namely Beijing-Daxing, which hasnāt been featured so far on the ATC schedule if Iām correct.
I think the main issue here is us, the users. As Tyler has explained, pilots love crowding the most popular airports, thatās why the likes of LAX had 300+ arrivals yet some other mega 777 hubs were deserted. This phenomenon replicates itself in the voting patterns where we see airlines like BA having most if not its entire fleet(though the 787-8 is absent) while airlines of a comparable size such as China Southern are hugely underrepresented. Donāt get me wrong, I always appreciate when a United livery is added especially the newer one and Iām glad that the devs try to bring in new under-voted liveries (e.g the Iraqi 777), but its up to the community to have a more broad outlook in this regard to have a more diverse selection.
Well, youāre incorrectā¦I feel as if Tyler does a great job in terms of varietyā¦itās just that when your unique airport is featured, it becomes a ghost town.
Adding to what my good friend @Thunderbolt said. IFATC has to accommodate both variety and traffic. For example previous features such as Algiers or New Orleans were a nice change but they were smaller airports that couldnāt handle the large traffic.
Here is my issue with this statement:
If we were to always just āappreciateā the liveries we have, the devs would never know what liveries we want.
Letās take the ANA B77W as the example that your linked as well:
ANA is such a staple airlines that the community deemed it unnecessary to even vote for it because it was assumed that this staple livery would be added. No one complained about it or even took a second glance at it because it was assumed to come. But look where complacency and āappreciationā got us. We are notably missing the ANA 77W livery now.
Again, āappreciationā is, in opinion, synonymous with complacency to the liveries that the devs select.
Now I know that there are hardware and software constraints that also need to be taken account of and my argument is by no means encompassing all of these challenges. However, not voicing a complaint over livery diversification is not the answer to that!
Just my two cents, feel free to PM me if youād like to discuss further š
Thereās a Features category for a reasonā¦
The answer is using Featuresā¦which as you mentioned, was āassumedā to be added, thus causing a lack of votes.
Clearly #features is not working because regardless of the number votes, the devs still pick and choose which ones to add.
Again, not trying to argue extensively (although it appears the contrary), so Iām gonna end it here. I have delved into this too much in numerous other threads, so Iām stopping here. Those are just my two cents is all.
Well, clearly the devs listen to the community.
Figure 1: Airbus A350XWB Family - 1195 votes
Figure 2: Vote for Infinite Flight's Next Aircraft! - Community Vote
Figure 3: Kuwait Airways Boeing 777-300ER - Kuwait Community
Figure 4: Air India Boeing 777-300ER - Indian Community
ANA 77W had less than 50 votes at the time when phase 1 was starting, which is not that much considering the 772 livery already existed and it wasnāt as popular as the others.
