Increasingly on the ES we appear to be seeing more pilots with strobe lights on at the gate and/or on taxiways.
Is it possible to add a Misc. Message along the lines of “CALLSIGN, strobe lights should only be used when entering an active runway and when airborne. Please disable your strobe lights until entering the active runway”?
Alternatively, perhaps a warning (similar to the recently added violation-less aircraft proximity warning when on the ground) when strobe lights are activated at a gate / on a taxiway without receipt of instruction to enter the active?
I don’t think it’s a good thing because a lot of time I saw my friend strobe and landing light on the ground and then asked them but all answered they have turned it off

probably they have turned their lights off but you just can’t see it

I don’t think this is necessary, to be honest. Not everyone feels the same way about the game. Some treat it as if they were flying an airplane in real life, some treat is as what Infinite Flight is, a flight simulator.
There’s no need to force realism down everybody’s throats. If they want to have their strobes on away from the runway, let them have their strobes on away from the runway. If it isn’t ruining the experience for them, it can’t be ruining the experience for you.

People really want taxi lights to be a thing, so they try to improvise by using the strobe lights instead

No. It’s a simplified sim and should be treated as such. There’s an “expert” server with rules for a reason

Taxi lights as well as flashing approach lights should be a thing

Agreed, but it may steal a lot of peoples frame rates lol
I think this is a good idea, as long as we keep it violationless. I think it can be a good reminder for those who want to be super realistic, but don’t really know how to do that. I will say, I am more inclined towards something similar to the proximity warning over the ATC message idea.
However, I also agree with @thenewpilot, in that Infinite Flight is a simulator and people should be allowed to do what they want in regards to when and where certain lights are turned on.

followed this topic and remembered that I recently took a trip in real life and there in SBSV there was a 737 with the strobes turned on in the gate LMAO

That wouldn’t be a good idea and wouldn’t be realistic, I’ve seen a lot of aircrafts in real life having their strobe lights on while at the gate, pushback and taxi.

I am inclined to disagree.
The Expert Server is exactly that. It comes with a set of rules to be followed. Should less than realism be desired to be achieved, then pilots are provided with the option of the TS and CS.
It’s not about ruining the experience, it’s simply that it’s incorrect. I draw your attention to the Pilot Tip that appears on the corner of the loading screen. It is a rule which, on the ES of all places, should be followed. In the same way that taxing faster than 35kts and too close to other aircraft are rules which are enforced, the latter with a violation-less warning which is a viable solution.

That’s wild. Strobes and Taxi lights aren’t even slightly similar.
Although I concede that I see Landing Lights being used for this purpose which I understand.
I implore you to consider that either you or the pilots you witnessed were mistaken.
I know it’s bad to quote from Wikipedia, but I’m struggling with quoting source FAA/CAA documentation. You will see from the highlighted text in this link that strobe lights should not be used at the gate or on taxiways.
I meant to say landing lights sry
bumping this! would love it to be displayed the same way as a “keep safe distance with aircraft ahead” that appears on the ground. having a 1 minute delay would also be helpful, serving as a grace period from when receiving lineup/takeoff clearance while on the taxiway, as well as after exiting the runway. probably just for expert server tho :D
