It is certified for steep approach. That doesn’t mean it has autoland. There is no autoland option for any Q400.

If we didn’t have cool features such as autoland, people would complain. Now we have cool features such as autoland, people are complaining…

Yes maybe it’s not used IRL on the Dash 8, but it will in IF. Autoland may seem pointless and ‘cheating’ to some people but for others it’s useful (in bad weather) and a cool feature. Let’s just accept that it will be on the Dash 8 and even though it’s not 100% realistic it’s still nice to have. If you don’t like it then pretend it’s not even there.

It should only be on aircraft that support it in real life. Should we add VTOL to all aircraft in IF as well?

I would like to have an ability of unabling APPR(autoland) button to be on your controls. It ruins your landing when you accidentially hit it instead of HDG or SPD, and may even lead to crash as result of stall it caused. I know some people who support this idea.

This feature was heavily requested before the a320 came out. Sure it’s not realistic, but not everything is realistic in IF to begin. It’s just a feature, if you don’t like it don’t use it!

It is realistic on the Airbus family. Not on a turboprop.
