Danii's ATC Tracking Thread [PASSED] @ N/A

@danii ATC Tracking Thread

It is preffered to create a temporary simple callsign. Unless you are in the pattern, FPLs will have to be made for inbound aircraft.

Please fly accordingly as you do with IFATC. Use “Remaining in the pattern” if you are doing touch-and-goes/patterns, otherwise use “Departing straight out, north, east, west, south” commands.

Once the session ends, please let me know how I do!

Pretty good. There were a few minor mistakes. You would need a little bit of practice.

  1. You told me to enter straight in for rw 24. This was not needed. I was already in the pattern and was supposed to do that.
  2. You need a bit of work on the different positions such as Downwind and base.
  3. There was 1 time where you should have told me to go around instead of telling me to maintain slowest speed.

Overall not bad. Needs a bit of work tho.

Thank you for the feedback! I did know I did make a few mistakes, but wasn’t aware on the pattern area. I understand the go-around part, I just wasn’t aware that one of the aircraft was on full stop instead of the touch-and-go like they requested.

Thanks for joining!

  • Transition at 8500 was a bit high but it works. 2500ft plus airport elevation would have been approved at 8k or above.
  • at 22:41:27 you said enter right downwind, I was actually on left downwind here. Should have been enter left downwind 24.
  • Know what once we take off you should give sequence and clearance, a few of these you waited quite a while and once I didn’t get clearance until a short right base. Around 22:51 I landed without a clearance.
  • On the missed clearance, had you cleared me for the option as you should have, note I can full stop or touch and go, once I went under 70knts you should have given exit runway command. I did this on purpose to see if you would GA general 383 who was on final.
  • I went back to runway 24 and you had me hold short and forgot about me. Once general 383 did his T&G I should have had LUAW or clearance for TO.
  • after I req departure to south, you should have given me freq change approved.

Overall, not bad, really focus on seq and clearance asap, watch for landing if cleared for option, with that watch for if GA is needed. If I’m on runway and aircraft is only 5-10 seconds before landing they should get a GA. Also review where left/right downwind and base are located.

Keep practicing you’ll get there! I would recommend using an airport with 2 runways at some point so we can do runway changes as well.

Thanks for the feedback! I did realize I set the transition alt too high as I didn’t check the airport alt (my mistake). I do struggle with left/right for some reason, and I am planning to fix that. I also went blank when you went below 70kts as I forgot full stop was the “option.” My apologies for forgetting about your takeoff+landing clearance, I’m also planning to fix that.

Thank you for joining! Next time we could do a 2 runway airport after I get used to clearances, patterns, and sequences.

All good! I was glad to see 3 of us joined to actually do decent pattern work for you to practice.

Have you passed the written exam yet or no? Once you do, training can be done and it’s extremely helpful as you’ll get 4-6 IFATC members and a trainer!

I have passed the written exam, and I am currently in-training. I’m just doing the tracking thread for when I have free time + extra practice

Just think of it this way,
Left downwind: airport is to the left of the pilot
Right downwind: airport is to the right of the pilot

I’m aware of that, I’m saying literally just in general lefts and rights are not my strong area 😭

@MAviationYT @Tyler_M @Mattchew I’m now open!

But be aware as I could close abruptly or responses might be delayed. If I do suddenly close, I will reopen about 30-60 minutes from the time I closed
