On Sunday August 16, Emirates returned to operating the EK241/EK242 DXB-YYZ service to the Airbus A380. They had been using their Boeing B777-300ER’s for the last couple of months. Other notable arrivals of the day were Etihad, China Eastern and Lufthansa.

First Up Emirates and the A380, I never realized how much I missed seeing the A380 until it was gone.
I was actually working on Emirates codeshares (literally these flights) today for WestJet and noticed how the A380 had just come baack imtl service. Thanks for the topic, the great pictures, and the great memories for me!
Really nice pictures! Some very rare aircraft like the LH Star Alliance A340 as well. Thanks for sharing and great to see the A380 back in the skies more and more.
The reason for that is the seat capacity as far as I am aware. The B747-400 is just to big currently for the very low market demand. With demand not rising that well, especially on long-haul flights there is no need for a big, expensive to operate and inefficient quad-jet like the B747.
Same also happened with the A340-600, which doesn’t seem to come back anytime soon.
