Current usable API controller to connect with joysticks

I have a Logitech Extreme 3D Pro joystick that I want to use with Infinite Flight, but I’m curious, is there an API controller that up to now I can use easily, and for free of course?
Or is it now difficult to find compatibility with this controller API for infinite flight?

Yes, I understand that actually just plugging in the USB cable on my Joystick with USB OTG which converts to the type C port on my cellphone, this is enough to play with infinite flight, but I’m curious about the functionality of the API.

Thanks!

Well, I don’t know about API, but a simple controller I use is the BackBone One controller, in their PlayStation style.. I love it! It’s super simple to use and also very portable, so I can bring it with me anywhere.

As someone who only plays IF with an API yoke, here’s my advice:

I use this software called MapConnect which is free and works really well!

Ah, is the concept is similar like Nintendo switch? I’m not familiar with things like that but quite understand how the concept works

Woah, I’ve heard this name, as far as I know it’s closed, but what is it? it looks like it was made by the famous infinite flight live map. But your suggestion is interesting, I will try this soon. Seems convincing

Basically a nitendo switch for your phone. I don’t use it for games very much, because I generally have my actual PlayStation with me.

When I bought my BackBone, it was with the intention of using it for Infinite Flight.

Nope it’s not closed, it works really nicely. I use it for every flight and it’s very reliable. I will admit it can have a couple issues (ex. If your WiFi goes out mid-flight it won’t reconnect sometimes) but it’s the only one out there that actually works.

Well, thank you all for your input. I will definitely try this soon, considering that I don’t want my joystick to just sit idle.
