CURRENT ISSUE: Black terrain

Hello!

As some of you have noticed, users can currently be experiencing the so called “black terrain” issue. The issue is pretty straight forward; everything except the sky and aircrafts is completely black.

We are currently investigating the issue trying to determine the root cause for it.

For those of you experiencing it, the following steps have proven reliable in fixing it:

• Relaunch Infinite Flight (make sure you stop it from running in the background first)
• Before starting a new flight, Go to Settings —> General —> Tap “Clear scenery cache”. It’s in the bottom.
• Start a flight (try on Solo first)

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience and we are working hard to have it fixed as soon as possible.

How to clear the scenery cache:

1. Go to “Settings” in Infinite flight

2. Make sure you have the “General” tab selected

3. Scroll down to the bottom, where you will see “Clear cache”. Press there.

4. A popup will then appear asking you if you’re sure. Of course we should press “Yes” here.

It happened to me and the problem was solved instantly when I cleared the scenary cache.

I do not know if it is related but in MMMX Lic. Benito there is an imaginary hole in the middle of runway 5R that didn’t get fixed with the scenary cache

It’s not directly related, but you should be able to fix it using the steps i mentioned above.

The only time i got the black terrain was when i had AWFUL connection and everything was gone.

I don’t experience any of that, it’s all good on my side. It could do with the memory because I keep the usage very low.

Oh i thought it became corrupt and i deleted IF and re downloaded …

Hello!

No, it won’t. The built in function to clear scenery cache only deals with the terrain and imagery in the app.

Hello! I’ve tried clearing cache on both solo and live, and restarting the app. Please could you advise how I can get rid of the black scenery! Thanks.

Have you done it in the exact order I posted above?
It’s vital that the app is force closed before attempting to clear cache and start a new flight.

Go to Settings in Infinite Flight, select the “General” tab (it’s default). Scroll down to the bottom. It should be there.
