It’s sad to end vacations and return to normal life and all but one thing I do look forward to when returning home is recreating my flights in game. I took 4 flights on my recent trip to Cali/Cartagena, Colombia and while some people like to do all legs, I personally don’t and I only do the one I enjoyed or was excited for the most. Well I actually did 2 today, I flew my return flight from yesterday in game mainly because I barely fly back home in game and also because the A321 operating out flight yesterday was the same one we have in game but doing that flight back to back in the span of 24 hours wouldn’t be fun to see in my opinion. So, which one did I choose?
I actually chose to do my connecting flight on JetSmart from Cartagena to Cali mainly because I was excited to try a new airline and posting a flight not originating from South Florida would be a nice change it won’t be 100% perfect since we can’t get the same weather conditions that were presented IRL in game not to mention the real flight was on an A320neo which we don’t have in game yet but either way let’s get into it!
Good afternoon from where we left off last time in Rafael Núñez International Airport in Cartagena, Colombia now we will be off to Cali for real this time on a new airline for me, JetSmart they are Chilean
low cost carrier but have subsidiaries in many South American countries with them recently opening JetSmart Colombia we’ll be flying in economy class on their A320neo so I’m super excited to try it out!
Baggage drop was pretty simple and they surprisingly didn’t make us put our backpacks in a size holder since I was pretty convinced my dad’s bag was a bit too big but it’s whatever. Security control in Colombia is really straight forward and we were soon in the departures hall looking for a place to eat we ended up getting Kokoriko and Presto both were really good and one thing I find cool about eating here is that when you order chicken or other meats, they often give you gloves to go all out eating it. While waiting out family meet up with us and we simply just hung around the boarding area until it was time for boarding.
FLIGHT INFO:
Origin: Cartagena Rafael Núñez Airport (SKCG)
Destination: Alfonso Bonilla Aragon International (SKCL)
Flight Time: 1:08
Airbus A320-200 (JetSmart)
Server: Expert
Taking us to Cali this afternoon will be CC-AWV a 2 year old Airbus A320neo delivered to the mainline JetSmart in November 2022 but transferred to the Colombian subsidiary in March 2024 and like frontier, they paint their aircraft will animals on the tails today we are on Vicuna the Llama

This boarding experience was probably the best I’ve had, CTG has no jet bridges so you board/deboard via stairs and our aircraft parked fairly out on the ramp so we walked along the sides seeing the many aircraft here before getting to ours.
JetSmart crams 186 seats on their A320neos across their subsidiaries, they are all 3-3 arranged they are all Recaro SL3710 slimlines. My seat will be 6A which we got for a really good price surprisingly I mean these front seats often don’t provide any extra comfort than the ones in the back compared to the ULCCs in the USA

Till Wednesday Cartagena!
I really like how it looks when we pass the clouds

We reached our cruising altitude of 37,000ft over the Pamarillo National Natural Park.
One thing that surprised me was that the crew did an inflight service. 3 years ago when I flew another Colombian low cost airline Viva Air there was no service and it was a longer flight. It wasn’t free like I was anticipating and nobody really bought anything but it’s still nice that they came around in the first place and the crew was also pretty nice didn’t talk too much but seemed like nice people so I’ll give them 3 stars
Like always, I didn’t get the WiFi mostly because it wasn’t available and neither were power ports. Like I said it’s okay if these aircraft only did short haul domestic flights but when you’re stuck here for 5 hours you’d at least appreciate some power but Colombia is already a scenic country so I didn’t matter to me anyways.
¡Hola, Medellin! We’ll be beginning our approach soon, we flew the traditional Cali approach into RWY 02 with going down the valley passing the airport on right downwind and turning right base.
Here we are on final for CLOs RWY 02 and I really like how the landscape looks in the evening especially with the drop in visibility.
TOUCHDOWN! Welcome back to Cali, Colombia

Now a kind of strange thing about Alfonso Bonilla Aragon International Airport is that some of the gates that would normally be reserved for international flights are sometimes used for domestic flights like D16 once we got off the path leading to passport control

That will be it regarding this flight on JetSmart from Cartagena to Cali, Colombia stay tuned for the flight back to CTG and the YT version of this trip report as well and as always between now and the next time, see you in the sky!
