Cruising in the 777 question

Is normal that if you set .84 Mach in the 777 AP, the PFD still shows .83 Mach?

Hey do you have a picture?

It’s most likely going to be due to winds.

Right now im descending so I can’t show It rn

Generally the Mach speed will be .01 lower since it can’t always be perfect. Nothing to be worried about though. :)

Then what should I do? Put .85 in the AP to correct It?

You could do, depends if you need it to be 100% accurate. Sometimes it’ll fix itself so to speak but it won’t really affect the way you fly by very much.

Happens everyday to me too! I generally stay at .80 as I don’t wanna get violations cuz of turbulence!

Yeah, they do this. It’s misleading though because it settles like 1 knot below 0.84. So while it may show 0.83 there’s no difference really, you’re going 0.84.

yea it happens to me too. and in real life the PFD shows mach number with 3 decimal places i believe. So for instance if you set AP to cruise at m.84 it may read .837
